The Lawrence Busker Fest is a 3 day events of amazing street performers. As their website puts it: "Welcome to a world where freaks, geeks, oddities, artists and out of the box entertainers run wild. Where fire burns to be breathed. Where swords are swallowed instead of swung. Where the only thing jugglers ever drop is your jaw. Where, at every show and on every corner, impossible happens right before your very eyes."
It is truly wonderful to be able to witness these great feats of talent and physical ability for free and right downtown!
This is my cat, Sunshine. I have had him for 6 years. Every night he comes and snuggles with me while I sleep. I don't think anything is more comforting than the sound of his snoring and purring.
He often gets himself into all sorts of trouble. From eating things he shouldn't, picking on his brother, moving my makeup brushes and knocking things over.
Here he is trying to fit in a shoe box, that is way too small for him. He pushed it around the floor for awhile until he finally settled in.
Phew. After a LONG day at work, I went to the Douglas County Fair. Saw so many co-workers, it was almost like being at work! Managed not to eat any junk food (will power!) and took some photos. Being there took me back to my days in Paola as a young teenager. All the drama and screaming. I'm glad to be an old boring adult. Being that young is much too exhausting At that age I never would have been excited to sit around and do nothing, now there is nothing better.
